Kiran’s first business book, The Conscious Lawyer, is a simple, powerful roadmap to help senior lawyers up-level their leadership to advance the future of law.

Kiran’s credentials

  • Transformational Leadership Coach

As a transformational leadership coach, Kiran works with senior leaders looking to uplevel individual and team performance and output.

Using a combination of her own executive level and energy coaching expertise, Kiran explores mindset and behaviour to uncover any barriers to change. She helps clients achieve greater clarity on direction and path to greater purpose and empowers them to take steps to change the way they lead themselves and those around them.

Kiran is an accomplished thought leader and keynote speaker on conscious leadership in the legal sector.

  • Chief Operating Officer

As chief operating officer of Support Legal Limited, an international virtual law firm, Kiran led the firm’s transformation from NewLaw start-up to boutique commercial law firm pioneering radical change in the legal sector.

As a highly tech-enabled business, Support Legal works with lower overheads, a remote and agile workforce and simple, more flexible billing arrangements to deliver greater value to its clients.

Kiran’s work was recognised by industry press at the 2021 Middle East Legal Awards; awarded in the categories of legal technology innovation and diversity champion.

  • General Counsel

As general counsel of Dubai Multi Commodities Centre Authority, Kiran transformed the legal, compliance, dispute centre and regulatory functions of DMCC, the six-time Global Free Zone of the Year. During her 5+ years at the helm of DMCCA, she set-up and organised a modern regulatory authority involving whole-scale restructuring of people, processes and approach to risk mitigation. Her work changed organisational attitude to regulation from business “obstacle” to “indispensable partner”.

For this work, Kiran was twice named General Counsel of the Year in the Middle East and, with her teams, awarded for compliance innovation and contribution to the in-house legal community.

  • Private Practice Lawyer

As an international projects lawyer for 15+ years in SE Asia and the Middle East (A&O), Australia (HSF) and UK (Dentons), Kiran was part of global-leading practices in public-private partnership (PPP) projects in all major sectors – transport, power & water and social infrastructure (education, hospitals etc).

She has represented sponsors, consortia members and financiers on first-to-market construction and infrastructure projects and worked closely with key representatives of governments to structure and implement path-finding projects in ‘true’ emerging markets.

  • Qualifications

Kiran has an honours degree and post graduate diploma in law (LLB (Hons) 1995, Dip.LP 1996) from the University of Glasgow. She is admitted to practice law in the UK and Australia.

She has a Practitioner’s Diploma in Executive Coaching 2019 and is an Association of Executive Coaching recognised executive coach.

  • Awards and Accolades

Kiran is honoured to have been recognised by peers and industry press in multi-award categories as a law firm COO, general counsel and private practice lawyer including for strategic transformational leadership, innovation in compliance and legal operations and diversity and inclusion.
